Lynne Farren:
As a life-long maker of things Lynne has painted, built furniture, designed clothing, made jewelry, made collage and assemblage, explored many paperarts and owned two different artsy stores. After loosing her downtown Tacoma studio of twenty-five years she is trying to find spaces for the vast array of objects and materials and always thinking of new ideas to make things.
Event Description:
Learn fascinating pop-up techniques to use in books and cards. Design a 3-dimensional movable book/card-object that allows for experimentation with dimension, perspective, and visual effect.
This workshop will begin with a demonstration of simple pop-up folds that can add dimension to a book or card structure. Attendees will practice and combine these skills to learn three pop up structures—squash fold pop-up, sculpture pop-up and abstract pop-up.
Workshop fee: $26.00 (Includes material fee)
Tool List: to be provided after registration

“The PSBA Annual Members’ Exhibition is now a summer tradition at the Collins Library and in Tacoma,” says Retired Library Director and PSBA Vice-President Jane Carlin. “Each June, we eagerly await the arrival of the curatorial team to work their magic in staging the exhibition. And we are never disappointed! This year we are particularly excited to see the books as the exhibition’s theme is 'TIME TRAVEL'. As always, you are encouraged to think broadly in your interpretation. You’re free to travel backwards or forwards or even sideways. This can be a personal journey to the past or you can envision a whole world of the future.
