April's lunchtime conversation will feature Tacoma's own Gabby Cooksey. Gabby has been very busy recently, traveling to the UK last summer for the Designer Bookbinders event, presenting at the Library of Congress, and sharing her expertise at the Boston Athenaeum's recent symposium on Artists Books.
Join us to learn about Gabby's recent work and listen to her presentation from the Library of Congress, titled, Those Unusual Bindings: showcasing techniques and unique materials used by the binder and the Aramont Collection. The Aramount Collection is a recent gift to the Library of Congress. In private hands for over 40 years, the Aramont Library consists of 1,700 volumes of literary first editions, illustrated books, and an astonishing collection of livres d'artiste (books by artists), by some of the most important artists of the 20th century.
The Zoom link will be sent to registrants 1-2 days prior to the event.
