 In this class we will be making a delightful chunky small book with watercolor paper text block, hard covers, and an exposed binding – using the structure as taught by Rachel Hazell (https://www.thetravellingbookbinder.com) and described in her recent book Bound: Fifteen Beautiful Bookbinding Projects. Octopus, 2018.) 

Instructor:  Pat Chupa, PSBA member/Board member. Book artist for 23 years; pieces in annual member exhibitions, exhibitions in Tacoma, Seattle, Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, Dallas, TX and UWE, Bristol, UK. Pieces in private collections, BIMA, Collins Memorial Library, Hypatia Trust Library, Penzance, Cornwall, UK.

Tool List:

Participants should bring:

·       Cover papers of choice sufficient in size to cover the two boards (origami            paper-sized sheets would do nicely).

·       6” metal ruler

·       Bone folder or acrylic folder

  •     Apron

All other materials and patterns provided.

Workshop fee $20.

Space is limited, registration is required, payment is due at the time of registration. PSBA accepts no walk-ins to workshops.
