PSBA SALON

September 9, 2018

3:00 to 5:00 pm

COLLINS MEMORIAL LIBRARY

Archives Seminar Room

We hope you will join us for our continuing Salon Series.  There will be time to talk with fellow book artists. Time will be given to share, so bring your work, ideas or problems. Jane Carlin will display and talk about a 3D book and check in on the altered book project. There is still time for you to be involved.  Below is Jane’s original email about the project with sites for inspiration.

Thank you all so much for your interest in the Altered Book project.   The books should be returned to the Collins Library by December 10th, 2018.  The books will be on display in the Library January through the spring.  Exact dates TBD.  The working title of the exhibit is “Transforming Knowledge.”   I’ll be preparing a short online form that will serve as the basis for label information closer to the drop-off date.  This will give you a chance to state in 3-4 sentences what inspired you!

There are lots of sites on the web that provide great inspiration for Altered Books.  I have listed a few below.  We may also hold a working event in our Library Makerspace in the fall for anyone who wants share ideas and touch base on the project.

Thanks so much again – I can’t wait to see the results!   I’ll touch with everyone in September, until then keep “altering”.
