  • This workshop will be focusing on five surface treatment techniques from ‘Mixed-Media Master Class with Sherrill Kahn’: craft paper sponge prints; gesso resist on photo paper; foam plate printing on cardstock; freezer paper resist on watercolor paper; and wet-on-wet with salt effects on watercolor paper. Rotating between stations to experiment with each process, participants will finish the day by creating a folded portfolio to contain their day’s work. All skill levels are welcome, beginning to advanced.

Space is limited, registration is required, payment is due at the time of registration. PSBA accepts no walk-ins to workshops.

Fee: $50 

Materials fee: $13 (due no later than the first day of the workshop, payable by check to: Pat Chupa)

Participant supply list: Apron or paint shirt; pen to record effects on each page created; bag lunch

Refreshments: coffee, tea, condiments

Workshop instructor: Elizabeth Walsh (Assistant: Pat Chupa)

Elizabeth Walsh has a long and distinguished portfolio of work in book arts and calligraphy and has taught many workshops over the years.

Pat Chupa is also one of the original PSBA members, a current board member, and has many years as a book artist and bookbinder. Pat wishes this year to add workshop-instructing to her skill set.
