Changing the Conversation with Yoshi Nakagawa and Jessica Spring

Book Arts Studio and Exhibit Space

Collins Memorial Library

University of Puget Sound

3:00 to 4:30

Monday, September 12

This event is free but registration is required.

Join Yoshi and Jessica as they share the collaborative process for the design of the Changing the Conversation poster as well as their own efforts to support local artists and organizations.  This unique poster is printed in an edition of 100 and available for purchase.  All proceeds will go to benefit programs in support of diversity and inclusion in the book arts  at the University of Puget Sound.  In addition, Yoshi will demonstrate the practice of linocutting and you will be able to print your own "conversation bubble."

If you are interested in purchasing a broadside they are available for $30 and can be purchased the day of the event by credit card or by check made out to Collins Memorial Library.   If you are unable to attend the event, we are happy to mail you a poster and simply contact Jamie Spaine: jspaine@pugetsound.edu.  As aforementioned, all proceeds will be used to encourage opportunities to engage a new generation of book artists!

This is an open house type event with presentations and printing from 3:00 – 3:45 and 3:45 – 4:30 so please check the time you would like to attend.  While one group is printing, join Jane Carlin in the exhibition space to learn about the exhibit and view some of the very powerful books in the collection.

Masks are recommended but optional
