Join Puget Sound Book Artists and the BARN Print and Book Arts Studio for a special presentation by educator and artist Babette Mayor, who will share a captivating selection of unique objects—from paper bags to books and posters—demonstrating the power of graphic design in everyday life. Babette will explore how ordinary materials can spark creativity, reveal unexpected design solutions, and inspire new directions in our own book arts practice.

If you have a favorite design reference book that you return to for inspiration, please bring it along to share with the group.

Babette Mayor is the facilitator of the popular Open Book Tours at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (BIMA), where she guides participants through intimate, close-up examinations of artists’ books while sharing her deep knowledge and enthusiasm for the medium. She is Professor Emerita in the Department of Art, College of Environmental Design at Cal Poly.
